First Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 update is now rolling out

As a Reddit user spotted, the new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 is getting its first software update
The Buds Pro 2, released in September, have received positive reviews so far. It vastly improves upon the Pixel Buds Pro regarding reliability and comfort. One of the new additions is the stabilization wing, which keeps the Buds Pro 2 seated in the user’s ear.
According to the Redditor, the update will bump the firmware to version 3.144. Although no official changelog has been released, a few posts on the Google Help forum suggest what the update may include.
One Google Help forum post about volume control issues included a message from a ‘product expert’ claiming an update coming in the “next few weeks” would fix the issue. That same product expert replied on another Help forum post about disconnection issues that an upcoming update might help.
Although other issues, including inconsistent noise cancellation, have been reported, it is unclear whether they are also being addressed.
It’s also possible the Pixel Buds Pro 2 update could include new case sounds. Earlier this year, a teardown of the Pixel Buds companion app indicated Google was working on additional case sounds — this update might make them available to users.
