Gaza humanitarian crisis deepens amid longest Israeli aid blockade

As Israel’s blockade on critical aid flowing into Gaza continues halfway into its second month, the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave has reached its lowest point since the war began in October 2023, according to the UN. Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the “urgent” need for a new ceasefire and return of humanitarian aid in Gaza, as Macron pushed for a reformed Palestinian Authority to take over Gaza after the war ends.
