Manchester United will be changing their home shirt on Sunday as they welcome West Ham to Old Trafford in the Premier League.

While Ruben Amorim’s side will wear their red shirt designed by Adidas for the clash against Graham Potter’s team, the kit will sport a different sponsor. This season, United have been sponsored by Snapdragon, the technology firm, however this weekend their kit will just bear the phrase ‘(RED)’.

This is because Snapdragon have donated their sponsorship for this weekend to the charity that helps provide life-saving funds to prevent some of the world’s deadliest pandemics. As part of the Global Fund, (RED) helps support life-saving programmes that empower health workers and provide testing and care in places where injustice has enabled pandemics to thrive.

The shirt worn by United’s women’s team was also changed for the fixture against Arsenal in the Women’s Super League. Supporting the initiative, former United captain Gary Neville said: “By donating the front-of-shirt logo for one men’s and women’s match, Snapdragon is showing the world that football can drive real change.

“Together, we can unite millions of fans to fight global health injustice, harnessing the power of football to make a difference and create a brighter future.” CEO Omar Berrada added: “Through the power and innovation of our relationship with Qualcomm Technologies, we are proud to use the front of the Manchester United shirt to tell the story of the vital work undertaken by (RED) to fight against health injustice.

“Qualcomm Technologies shares our ambition to use football as a force for good and this activation underlines that aspiration, especially at a time when the world faces enormous challenges in helping the most vulnerable in society.” Snapdragon became the primary shirt sponsor for United last summer after the previous agreement with TeamViewer was ended early.
